Get ready for a week in
paradise...the Hawaii Expedition is here! With its breathtaking natural
beauty, its never-ending list of fun and exciting things to do, and its spirit
of "aloha," Hawaii is a dream destination for anyone!
We will be staying in beautiful
Waikiki on the island of Oahu, and we will spend each day exploring a new and fascinating
aspect of Hawaii's unique culture.
Join us as we test our surfing
abilities, celebrate a traditional luau, and hike to one of the island's
best-known lookout points. We'll come face to face with Hawaii's rich
history...and maybe even a sea turtle or two! And along the way, we'll
get to know each other, forming friendships to last beyond our week
together.
This will be our day-to-day
journal... Each day, you'll get news, information, and pictures from the
students. Join us on our adventure!
Marcelo and
I arrived Friday night because we booked the tickets the wrong day. We spend
the first night at the 37th floor and we were able to watch the
wonderful landscape that the island has to offer. The ocean, people surfing,
the volcano was something amazing that we will never forget.
I always
wanted to try surfing and when I saw the opportunity of having a trip to Hawaii
I just decided to come and join the tour. I expect to have lots of fun and meet
new people that can understand how I feel during this year because they are
exchange students like me. (Massi)
I heard
about the different language that the people use here in Hawaii and I think
that is interesting. They just use 12 letter in the alphabet, so I want to
learn more about that and make my vocabulary bigger. (Marcelo)
